Chair, Religious Studies Department
Although John Leonard teaches in several areas within Religious Studies, he specializes in Spirituality, Liturgy, Catholic Studies and Liberation Theologies. John works closely with Women's & Gender Studies, Center for Multicultural Education, Center for Diversity & Inclusion and the Dominican Mission Committee. An organic gardener and accomplished chef, John integrates food, fitness, music and art in courses and departmental celebrations. |

Loretta Dornisch

Professor
Dr. Dornisch often teaches courses such as Introduction to the Literature of the Bible, or Christian Thought Today, along with graduate courses such as Trends in Ministry or Religious Traditions in the Contemporary World. Loretta especially enjoys working with students in preparing for professional ministry through field experience or internships. Loretta has published a number of books and articles. Her latest books include A Woman Reads the Gospel of Luke, Paul and Third World Women Theologians, Faith and Philosophy in the Writings of Paul Ricoeur,A Woman Writes Poetry, and Feminism and Beyond: A Theological Reflection for the Next Aeon. |

Expertise in Christian Social Ethics, faith-based organizing, and pastoral education. Currently serves as a Lay Pastor at Five Points Lutheran Church, ELCA. Larry teaches RS 650 Moral Decision- Making in an Ecumenical Context in the graduate program and a variety of courses in the undergraduate curriculum. |

Jerry Folk teaches Introduction to Christian Thought in the RAAD program. He is a clergyman in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and has served congregations in Steubenville, Ohio and in Madison, WI. Jerry taught Religious Studies and Peace Studies at Bethany College, Bethany, West Virginia and Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD. He is the author of three books and numerous articles. His area of special interest is the intersection between Christian spirituality, social justice and the public witness of the Church. Jerry recently retired as Executive Director of the Wisconsin Council of Churches. |

James Goulding |
Lecturer
Jim Goulding is a part-time instructor in the Religious Studies Department, teaching Introduction to Major Religious Traditions and Topics in Religious Studies: Islam. He recently retired from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, where for 30 years he served as College Chaplain, Professor of Religion, and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Although his doctoral work was in the History of Christianity, his current interests are in social justice issues in the context of Christian ethics and in the study of Islam. He is strongly committed to helping people have an intelligent view of Islam.
