Students choose a topic of interest in Religious Studies or select writings of a major theologian (e.g., Augustine, Aquinas, Luther, Tillich, Segundo, Ruether, Johnson, Neo-Thomists, Feminists, Liberation Theology).
Requires preparation of a paper or public presentation to report the results of the investigation. Topics and credits to be approved by Department of Religious Studies.
Prerequisite: any F8 course or an equivalent.

Human Issues Seminar in Religion & Public Life I

First semester of a study of contemporary issues relating to religion and public life. Biblical notions of justice, papal encyclicals, pastoral letters of Bishops' Conferences, and statements of the World Council of Churches provide a basis for discussion and participation in an area of social justice.
